Applause runs both indoor and outdoor seasons of performances hosted by promoters in local community venues and outdoor spaces.
How does it work?
We welcome interest from both artists and companies that are experienced rural tourers and those new to rural and community touring. If you are new to the network, we suggest you read the National Rural Touring Forum's Eyes Wide Open booklet to get an idea of what might be involved. It is available to download from the NRTF website www.ruraltouring.org.
We ask all companies to complete a Company Information Form to provide us with the information we need to understand the show and present the show to our promoters. You can download the Company Information Form from the Resources page.
Unfortunately, due to the exceptional amount of artist information we receive we are unable to reply to all of your Company Info Forms or expressions of interest. However, we will contact you if we are interested in finding out more about your work. Following this we will pencil in dates with selected companies and present those available dates to Applause promoters along with information on the show. These dates still MAY or MAY NOT be booked by promoters, although we endeavour to not tie up your touring dates unnecessarily.
Applause promoters book approximately 30 performances each autumn and spring season across various art forms.
We commission and tour small scale outdoor work which is hosted by village fetes, festivals and other public outdoor celebratory events. To find out more about Applause Outdoors visit the Outdoors page
If you are a potential sponsor for a project or programme, please contact the Applause office.
